Key Personnel

Duane and Loraine Mercer are the owners of Sunrise Restorations Ltd. Duane works as an estimator and project manager. Duane felt that  there was a need for a restoration company in the Southern Okanagan. Thus, in 1991 they started 'Sunrise'.  With the ongoing support of the community, insurance agents, companies and adjusters, Sunrise Restorations Ltd. has grown to its current status of 9 full-time employees and several part-time workers. Ongoing education in the restoration industry has resulted in Duane achieving the level of IICRC Certified Master Restoration Technician.

John Nunes works as a project manager at Sunrise Restorations Ltd. He began working part-time in 1997 and this led to full-time work in 1999. John started working as a laborer, was trained and certified in water damage and then smoke and odor control. Before coming to Sunrise Restorations John worked in sales in the building industry. He also worked doing home renovations. John is an IICRC certified water damage technician, fire & smoke technician and odor control technician.

Jeff Powlesland began working full-time with Sunrise Restorations Ltd. in 1997. Jeff spent his high school years in Oliver, and then moved away to Alberta for a number of years after he was married. He moved back to the Okanagan in 1997 to be closer to family. Jeff is IICRC certified in carpet, upholstery and fabric cleaning. Jeff is well known for his attention to detail and excellent workmanship.

Diane Miller began working part-time with Sunrise Restorations Ltd. in May 1994. Her position rapidly grew to full-time as business continued to increase. She is an IICRC certified fire and smoke technician and is in charge of the cleaning department. Her responsibilities include the handling of all contents with regard to insurance claims.

Cindy Nunes began working full-time with Sunrise Restorations Ltd. in September 1996. She is the secretary and is the voice you normally hear when you call the office. She also works in the field from time to time and is an IICRC certified fire and smoke damage technician.
